Pastry Runner

About

Hello! I’m Dawn, and I love to run. I started in 2003 with a 5k and, despite some injuries here and there, haven’t really stopped.

I also love to bake. Measuring and mixing and decorating give me the same kind of zen that a good run does, except with far less physical effort and much tastier results that I can share with my family and friends.

This blog was born when my husband gifted me with the Ladurée:Sucré book for our first anniversary. We’d visited the iconic pastry shop while in Paris on our honeymoon, and given my love of baking, French pastries and gorgeous food photography, he figured I’d enjoy looking at it, even if I never made a single thing out of it.

He was absolutely correct. The book is absolutely gorgeous and inspiring to look through, and I immediately wanted to make one of everything in it. He suggested I do just that and blog about it. And here we are today. In addition to making a steady supply of wonderful treats, I’m also hoping to learn a few things and improve my pastry skills along the way.

You can also find me on Twitter and at my other blog, Running at Dawn.
